Ranked by projected gross S$-equivalent value at your spend and chosen mile value. Ties broken alphabetically by issuer. Cards marked “Affiliate” earn SGfi a referral commission if you apply through these links — this does not influence the ranking.

How these projections work

Figures are estimates based on the spending you entered, assumed steady across the year, using standard Merchant Category Code (MCC) classifications and each issuer’s published rates. Monthly caps, annual fees and minimum-spend requirements are shown on every row and factored into the projections. Not modelled: promotional sign-up bonuses, merchant-specific exclusions, fee waivers beyond the first-year window shown, and future rate changes by issuers. First-year figures assume a new cardholder eligible for introductory rates; ongoing figures reflect post-introductory rates. Standard merchant coverage estimates are based on Singapore market share; you can adjust them in the settings above.

Actual earnings depend on your eligibility and each bank’s current terms, which may differ from the figures shown here — always verify with the issuer before applying.

How dining credit-card rewards work in Singapore

Dining rewards hinge on the merchant category code (MCC) a restaurant uses to clear your payment. Cards pay their elevated dining rate when a transaction codes as a restaurant or eating place; the same meal can earn nothing extra if it clears under a hotel, a club, or a general-retail code instead. That is why a hawker stall paying through a third-party terminal sometimes earns differently from a sit-down restaurant.

Beyond the code, the levers that move your earn are the monthly minimum spend some cards attach to the dining tier, the cap that limits how much bonus you can collect each month, and whether the rate is restricted to local dining or also covers overseas meals. The calculator applies your own monthly dining figure to each card so an unmet minimum or a low cap is reflected in the order, not hidden behind the advertised rate.

Food delivery is the common surprise: orders through foodpanda, Deliveroo or GrabFood may code as the delivery platform rather than the restaurant, so they can land in an online-spend bucket instead of dining. Cashback hands you a percentage back to spend now; miles convert the same bill into travel currency worth chasing only if you redeem well — set a mile’s value to compare them fairly.

For how each figure is sourced, time-stamped, and built — and what the calculator does and does not model — read our methodology.

Frequently asked questions

Which credit card earns the most on dining in Singapore?expand_more

It depends on your monthly dining spend and whether you prefer cashback or miles. Enter your restaurant and food figure in the calculator above and the list re-ranks by what each card would actually pay you, accounting for caps and any minimum spend — not just the headline rate.

Is there a minimum spend to unlock the dining rate?expand_more

Frequently. Several cards pay the elevated dining rate only after your total monthly spend clears a threshold, and a few limit the bonus to local dining. The calculator works from your real spend, so a card whose minimum you do not reach drops down the ranking rather than showing its top rate.

Cashback or miles for dining — which suits me?expand_more

Cashback returns a percentage you can use immediately; miles convert your dining spend into travel currency that pays off only if you redeem it well. Dining is one of the most common bonus categories on both card types, so use the cents-per-mile control to value miles your way and compare them side by side.

Does food delivery count for the dining bonus (foodpanda, Deliveroo, GrabFood)?expand_more

Not always. Delivery orders can code as the platform rather than the restaurant, which may route them into an online-spend or general category instead of dining. If most of your eating-out spend is delivery, check each card’s terms — the bonus you earn can differ from dining in at a restaurant.

Is there a cap on dining cashback or miles?expand_more

Usually. Most cards cap the bonus dining reward each month, after which further dining earns the base rate. A high rate with a tight cap can earn less than a steadier rate with more headroom, which is why the calculator applies caps at your spend level when it ranks.
