These figures are estimates based on the amount and mile value you entered. They are not a quote from any bank or card network, and the SGD that posts to your statement can differ.

Assumptions used
  • The foreign amount is converted at the ECB reference rate. Card networks (Visa, Mastercard) apply their own daily rates, which can differ from the ECB reference rate.
  • FX fees are as published by each issuer as of 23 Oct 2026, applied to the converted amount.
  • The purchase is a single in-store transaction, and it is the only foreign-currency spend on the card this month. A minimum-spend threshold is tested against this amount alone.
  • Rewards are earned on the SGD charged, including the FX fee, and miles are valued at the cents-per-mile figure you set.
Not modelled
  • Rewards are subject to issuer exclusions, caps, merchant category (MCC) rules and promotional periods, which can change or end.
  • Other spend on the card in the same month, which can move a card past a minimum spend or into a cap.
  • Dynamic currency conversion, cash advances, ATM fees, merchant surcharges and annual-fee waivers.
  • Welcome offers and rewards on spend outside this one transaction.

Converting baht prices back to SGD

This page runs from baht to Singapore dollars because that is the conversion most people do on the spot: a price tag, a menu or a hotel invoice in baht, and the question of what it comes to in SGD. The swap button reverses it for anyone budgeting in SGD before a trip.

Most baht spending by Singapore residents happens in Bangkok and Phuket. City trips tend to mix mall shopping and hotels on a card with markets, street food and transport paid in cash. Beach trips shift more of the spend into resort bills, tours and boat transfers, which are often larger single amounts.

That mix matters for the card table. A foreign-currency fee applies only to what goes on the card, so the cash share of a trip sits outside the table, priced instead by wherever the cash came from. To see how a resort bill fares, enter that bill as the amount: the table shows whether the charge clears any minimum spend and whether a monthly cap cuts the reward short.

Getting baht cash is where costs are easiest to overlook. A money changer in Singapore builds its margin into the quoted rate, so comparing that quote with the reference rate on this page shows the margin. At an ATM in Thailand, a withdrawal on a Singapore credit card is a cash advance under the card’s terms, with its own fee and interest, and the ATM operator can add a withdrawal fee of its own. Debit and multi-currency accounts have separate pricing that this page does not cover.

At card terminals and on booking pages, an offer to charge you in SGD instead of THB is dynamic currency conversion. Choosing THB keeps the conversion with the card network.

Paying in SGD abroad: dynamic currency conversion

Dynamic currency conversion (DCC) is when a terminal, ATM or checkout page offers to charge you in Singapore dollars instead of the local currency. If you accept, the merchant’s payment provider converts the amount at a rate it sets, with its own margin built in, and the card network’s conversion is skipped.

Paying in THB instead leaves a single conversion with the card network, followed by your issuer’s published foreign-currency fee. With DCC, the merchant’s margin replaces the network rate, and some issuers still apply a fee to SGD transactions processed outside Singapore, so the total can carry two layers of cost instead of one.

Declining it at a terminal in Thailand:

  • When the screen shows two amounts, one in SGD and one in THB, select the THB amount.
  • If the cashier selects for you, ask for the charge in THB before you tap or enter your PIN.
  • On a printed slip, check that the currency is THB and that no conversion rate or markup line appears.
  • Online, choose the local-currency price where a checkout offers a currency switch.

Common questions

How much is 1 THB in SGD today?

฿1 is about S$0.04 at the ECB reference rate for 23 Oct 2026 (1 SGD = 26.395 THB). The reference rate is a daily midpoint, not a money changer’s or card network’s rate.

How much is 1,000 baht in SGD?

฿1,000 converts to about S$37.89, and ฿12,000 to about S$454.63, at the reference rate for 23 Oct 2026. A card charge adds the issuer’s fee before any rewards.

Is it cheaper to be charged in SGD or THB by card in Thailand?

Paying in THB leaves the conversion to the card network and adds the issuer’s published fee. For the cards SGfi has verified, issuer fees run from 3% to 3.5%. Accepting SGD at a Thai terminal means the merchant’s provider converts at its own rate and margin, and an issuer fee for SGD charges processed abroad can still apply.

Which fees apply when I pay by card in Thailand?

For a card purchase: the network’s conversion (visa and Mastercard each convert at their own daily rate, which can differ from the ECB reference rate) and the issuer’s foreign-currency fee. For the cards SGfi has verified, issuer fees run from 3% to 3.5%. Cash withdrawals are priced differently, as cash advances, and an ATM operator can add its own fee.

How has THB to SGD moved over the last 90 days?

Over the 90 days to 23 Oct 2026, ฿1,000 was worth between S$37.86 (22 Oct 2026) and S$38.87 (24 Aug 2026), based on ECB reference rates via Frankfurter. Past movements are not indicative of future rates.
